Obviously, once in Shakhrisabz you must visit all of the monuments within the complex. After a fair walk through wonderful gardens there you will find this very rewarding monument.

This is a nice mosque. The interior is well-decorated. The day I visited, four children were playing inside and this gave the structure some life.

Very nice complex. Good for people watching. Nice blue domes. However, in overall, the shakhriszabs is not as beautiful as I have imagined, but the trip from Samarkand over the mountains was amazing. We did it by taxi for 50 usd whole day.

The famous blue dome of the mosque, built by Tamerlane's grandson Ulug Beg, was covered in scaffolding during my visit. However, inside the mosque the beautiful paintings were ready. On the other side are two mausoleums that are also being restored to their former glory.
