We did it ourselves...it's all paved out..follow the pavement and you can't get lost! We had no problems with accommodation until MBC. We were not fussy though. In April it was 1 degree at the top so hardly cold.

7 days is not a problem. In fact, it is sometimes an advantage not being an experienced hiker or runner, as I witnessed several super athletic types struggling mightily with altitude sickness as they had gone up too fast... More
