We came here on a day trip from Ishigaki, and it was well worth the trip. This beautiful piece of unspoilt nature really merits more than a day to be fully appreciated.

Iriomote is one of the main islands in Yaeyama and it is a perfect place for adventure and relax at the same time. Beautiful and blue beaches, rivers with mangroves and falls and many more things.

It met our end of holiday aim to be on a quiet and secluded island. There is little to do but relax, read and enjoy a drink. The river cruise and hike was nice, but that's as extreme as you can get here.

A ferry ride away from Ishigaki is an island covered in thick forest and mangrove swamps. This place is teeming with wildlife both on the land and in the sea. We took a ferry to Uehara, the northern port (not to be confused with Ohara,...More
