Shiva temple with a Moon Pratishta. Located in a village having beautiful surroundings on the way from Kumbakonam to Tanjaore. Calm place. Never seen a temple with exclusive Chandra prathista before.

The temple is located on the highway to Thanjavur. On the way to temple from Kumbakonam travellers can enjoy the beautiful rice fields and banana farms. The place is a green zone and soothing to mind.

The temple is located in a very quiet place.

In the field of Astrology, Chandra Dosham has its impact. It causes concern in wealth, health, mother’s wellbeing and nervous disorders. Chandran blesses his devotees with wealth, health, richness and get out of the health disorders. Monday is the special day for the chandran.

Mainly, people visit the temple to avoid obstacles in marriage and in child boon. Children want to pray the Chandra to progress in educational studies.

This is the second sacred planet in the Navgrahas. Chandra is a peaceful planet and worshipped by people who have weak moon position in their horoscopes.Chandra is represented by white, white flowers, white clothes and PEARLS. Chandra temple is in Thingaluru, near Tanjore. The main deity is Shiva and Perinaayaki amma temple facing west. The Moon temple is at the side of the main temple. There is also Sun temple next to moon temple.
Go round the temple, we can see Ganesh and Subramanya temples. also sundaresha, durga and also navagraha temples. There is a lake also near the temple.
Dosham to mother, mental retardation, skin and nerve problems, jaundice, fluid accumalation are the diseases caused because of Chandra dosham. By praying to Lord Chandran, the above afflictions can be overcome. Wealth, mother's happiness, marriage, prosperity, foreign travel will be bestowed on his devotees.

The sthalam of Chandran is Thingalur, which is located 36kms from Kumbakonam, enroute to Thiruvaiyaru. Chandran's wife is Rohini. The presiding deity are Kailasanathar and his consort Periyanayakiamman.

Spend sometime going arouns the temple. Nice temples and sculptures around the temple. Nice and peaceful atmosphere.

This temple is very small and far from Kumbakonum compare to other Navagraha temples. Temple was opened through the day because of holiday (dec 25). It was crowded like anything. The approach road to temple is too narrow.Buses and vans blocked the road, so we parked the car one km from temple and walked. However, it was right decision because many cars were struck on the road more than hour.

One of the integral part of Navagrahas, Moon, has a seperate shrine in this temple. People from all over South India frequent this place. The temple is small, but well managed. Only thing is the flooring in the temple, which tends to get heated up during noon. Elderly people may need to wear socks or some protective clothing to protect their feet/soles.

Persons having faith in virtue and sin and methods to enhance virtues and minimise the sins used to visit the Navagraha Thalams irrespective of religion, caste and creed. Wonderful small temple and again the devotees should be held responsible for the up keep of the temple. There are tours arranged by private agencies to have a glimpse of all thalams. One can even tour by private car also. The brain and mind of the individual is being controlled by the Thingal/Chandran/Moon acoerding to Siddha Philosophy..

This temple is located in a village called Thingalur in Thanjavur (Tanjore) district. This temple is known for Chandran (Moon). Anyone who has Chandra dosham should visit this temple.

Chandra dosham causes issue with mother's health, mental imbalance, skin and nervous disorders. One can overcome all these issues by praying to Lord Chandran in this temple.

Thingalur is off Thiruvaiyaru - Kumbakonam road, 6 km from Thiruvaiyaru. It is 25 km from Thanjavur (Tanjore). Public transportation is available from Tanjore, Kumbakonam and Thiruvaiyaru. I would suggest you to hire a cab to visit this temple as the frequency of buses is less.

Kailashnathar Swamy Shiva temple is also part of the navagraha sthana to worship for the Moon. To is a small temple and I love its size as it is easy to negotiate.
I have been there many times, it is a beautiful drive from Kumbakonam through the fertile rice fields of the Kaveri Delta.
It has a Moon like feel, loving and sweet.
This time we went on Monday and the temple was extremely busy wi many devotees coming to worship. Monday is also the day for Lord Shiva so it was a special day. The energy was wonderful.
We had to wait to do our puja but it was very peaceful and was easy to wait.
