This is a true architectural marvelous. Recently 1000 years completion was celebrated for this temple. This temple was built by cholas. This is built in such a way that shadow of the whole tower will fall on itself and will not fall on ground. You will definitely admire on visiting this temple. The Nandhi and Shiva linga are very huge.... More

It was pure bliss to step into this wonderful temple not just a spiritual point, it is also a architectural wonder. The architectural wonder is that there is no visible shadow of this structure on the ground. It is a must visit for anyone who loves history or architecture.

The Brihadeeshwara Temple is 1000+ years old. 100% Granite temple weighing approximately 13,00,00,000 KG. 216 feet tall, 81,220 KG Vimana (...top), 800 ft circumference . UNESCO included this amazing temple in World Heritage Site. A millenium back, the technology Hindus had to lift a 81,220 KG single rock, to the top of a 216 feet temple. Build by Raja Choola.

The Brihadeeshwara Temple is quite breath taking both in grandeur and size, the carvings are gorgeously detailed, even if you do not have a guide to explain the story telling then you could easily drift around and admire its beauty, there is quite a lot of open space without a great deal of shade so you are quite exposed on...
