An unusual site in Algeria.

A great story behind the place, but unfortunately there is no info written anywhere about it. You have to look it up on line. No signs on the road to tell you where it is. You can't go inside the tomb unless there is a touristic group.

I visited as part of a bespoke tour by Expert Algeria. It is also known by the name Tombeau de la Chretienne and is certainly intriguing although not possible to enter. There is a steep road to the entrance which means you get commanding views from the top of the hill where the site is situated. Not much information in... More

Travelling towards Tipasa from autorute you are just 300m away from it but you have to make a great detour to reach it. If you do not have a good gps and navigation program you can easiy get lost. Once you reach the spot you will feel it is worth the detour. Area very well kept but some surrounding area... More

Every monument or historical site is a great one, yes it must be visited. The only problem is that you don't have any guides to tell you about it, you search the internet there are different stories about it, so no one could give you the real story behind this place. But any person who is slightly into history, archeology,... More

This enormous tomb is easily combined with the Roman ruins at Tipasa as part of a day trip from Algiers. Commanding views of the countryside as you walk around. When we visited in mid March it was surprisingly cold, below 10 degrees Celsius at the top. It didn't seem to be possible to go inside.
