We visited and shopped the local stores on the way to Presque Isle Park. Work a stop to eat at one of the cook places to eat.

Great architecture, stores, pubs, and restaurants. Very walkable downtown. Cool boutiques and stores and awesome selection of restaurants. Paid parking, Marquette will milk every dime it can out of you... but worth a visit anyway.

While other city downtown venues beat this one, it still offers a decent stroll. Proprietors could not be any nicer. Their short tourist season will welcome you in the summer months with big smiles and kind conversations.

Town is quaint, clean with really cute shops and restaurants. The must see is the courthouse with its stained glass dome! Beautiful! Anatomy of a Murder was filmed partly in the courthouse. We also spent time at the coal/ore dock watching a barge being loaded--enjoyable!...More

Walking distance from beautiful Lake Superior. Lots of quaint little shops to meander through and see a little bit of the local culture and sense of humor.

Nice place to visit if touring the UP. Variety of shops and restaurants. We spent time at the coal/ore dock watching an unloading and reloading— not something you can see everywhere. Very dog friendly area.
