Sugarloaf Mountain was a quick and easy drive from Marquette. We took the easy route to the top and descended via the difficult route. The easy route is a bit longer and has more stairs than the difficult route. The views at the top were...More

Visited upon suggestion of my customer located in Escanaba. There are 2 hiking trails and easy and difficult. The easy is a longer steady incline, where as the difficult is a faster route to the top, with a good incline. At the top you can...More

Beautiful, easy hike up to the top of Sugarloaf! Rewarded at the top with a 360 degree view of Marquette, Lake Superior, surrounding forests. Stairs with railings are helpful in many spots.

This great little hike is perfect for everyone who can manage stairs. Both the "easy" trail and the "difficult" one are well-marked and offer delightful paths through woods with glimpses of splendid views; at the top a spectacular vista opens up. Do wear shoes that...More

The view is an abundant highlight. But the forest is also very beautiful. Solid footwear is recommended but no must, the walk is good with kids but not for prams.

We picked a great day. I would definitely recommend the easy trail when hiking with children. There are several spots to stop along the way and rest. It is totally worth the climb! Beautiful!

Depends on the kind of pet doesn't it? If it's a dog, just keep it on a leash and all is well.

Amanda, I did not pay anything, and I looked for a way to pay. I think this is a free park open to the public. Enjoy!

The sunsets seen off of Sugarloaf are really beautiful. It's about a 20 minute hike up and again to hike down. So if you plan to stay for the whole sunset, be sure to bring a flashlight for the hike back down.
