The highest point on the island, this location allowed the British to attack and force the surrender of Fort Mackinac at the beginning of the war of 1812, Rebuilt c1936, it represents the military importance of securing the high ground.

Like most attractions you have multiple ways of getting there. It's worth seeing and spending some time there. Beautiful views across the straights.

This is a nice stop on a bike ride or carriage ride around the island. Great views on one of the highest points of the island. Historic site and a must see if you go also to Fort Mackinac.

I have visited the fort for years on an almost annual basis but with the fort rebuilt it is a very historical place to visit and gain greater knowledge of island history. The view is still great! Best yet -it's still free.

Breath-taking view from the top, worth the hike up the stairs. The fort reconstruction is pretty cool too. Do it if you have time.

Highest point on the island. Wonderful views of Lake Huron and the Straights. We walked up to the Fort, but might take a "taxi" next time.

We went up there with a very knowledgeable state park ranger to watch a meteor shower on 12Aug2017. Enjoyable and interesting. It was all downhill after the show!

We rode our bikes up to see the fort. The views were beautiful, and picnic tables nearby were handy for sitting for a snack.
