Enjoyed seeing the fort, buildings, and hearing the short movie about the island and the fort. Love history, so this was right up our alley.

Always enjoyable. The history is fantastic about how soldiers and people lived in those days. Make sure you watch the soldier re-inactment - plug your ears. We took our children as toddles, now we come as a couple, never gets old.

It's our tradition as a couple. We also toured the fort. Added bonus was admission to off-site buildings and the new Mackinac Art Museum.

This fort with its exhibits and demonstrations was top notch. Enjoyed the "soldiers" who performed the various re-enactments. Marvelous opportunity for Boy Scouts to participate in a bit of history.

We plan to take the carriage tour and visit the fort. After getting off the carriage, how many stairs to the fort? Also, touring the fort, is this a moderate or more extreme activity. Some in our group have issues with climbing stairs.

It is only from early May until mid October each year, usually. The hill is steep and can be accessed by walking or from the north side by walking, biking, or carriage.
