Well done and worth the entrance fee

This is a good well restored area that is well worth the fee to enter and catch the exhibitions with the canon and riflemen.

We ended our carriage tour with a visit to Fort Mackinac, overlooking the town and marina. It is rich in history, well preserved as well as interesting, and handicap accessible, although the only way back down is to complete the carriage tour or hire a "cab" if you have a handicapped person with you (our moms had a walker and a... Interesting and educational. A lot of walking around, but the views are spectacular. Did not visit the store and did not get a chance to try the food.

We had a great time at Fort Mackinac and the kids loved seeing in all the buildings and watching the cannon being shot and the rifles being fired! We had a blast and it is worth the time and money....

I was surprised at the quality and quantity of the Fort. The exhibits were very interesting. The characters doing the re-enactments were very friendly. Quality shop and nice bathrooms. The highlight was the view from the tearoom patio. Be sure to eat outside! Food was great and wine and beer were offered.

I recommend this to all history buffs and recommend to all those who like a great view. They have a restaurant (didn't eat there, but the view from that looked amazing). Most of the buildings were accessible (only a couple were not). It was one of the stops on our carriage tour. Don't miss the cannon. Those with mobility issues... More

This historic fort was so fun to tour. All the buildings are original and the exhibits were great! Saw the rifle shoot but missed the cannon shoot. Views are phenomenal up there! Well worth the money if you enjoy history.

I am not a big fan of history, but my husband is so of course we had to come here. It is a very very steep hike up a hill, then two flights of stairs. Very exhausting. They had a cannon demonstration and a rifle demonstration while we were there. Different buildings to go in along with a gift shop,... More

A landmark and a great historic experience for kids. A long walk from the Grand Hotel, but you can always grab a carriage.
