There aren't a ton of sites to see in Lansing but this should be on one's go-to list. The building is in fantastic shape, the architecture and interior is striking. Enter from the west side, door to the left of the main steps. Free.

What a beautiful state capitol building. Lots of great architectural beauty. It's pretty outstanding sight right downtown. It's a nice dome.

Quite accommodating during the annual Silver Bells event. The event was well attended and the weather took a quick turn with pouring rain. It was still a very accommodating spot for the annual event.

You can wander around on your own during the week but it's worth it to also take the tour to get some added info. The building is fully restored and is beautiful.

Like Robert N, depends on when you're visiting the Capital. We visited on a Saturday and parked for free on street that was walking distance.

Scalp before you go. The tours are free and they do have a schedule. The tour guides are very knowledgable.
