I am not into cars at all, but happened to visit the car museum as I was there on business and I was very impressed with the layout, the historical info and the cars! The museum in well maintained and represents a trip back in time. The staff was polite and gracious and welcoming. A family atmosphere.

Exhibits are spectacular and if you want to see cars, I would recommend the Gilmore Car Museum over the Henry Ford in Dearborn, MI. There are 350+ cars covering everything from the very 1st car (Benz reproduction) through the 1960's. The museum is located in the countryside and the cars are divided into groups (Ford, Pierce Arrow, Packard, Cadillac, Hudson,... More

Roughly halfway between Chicago and Detroit, this wonderful farmland museum takes you back to the Fabulous Fifties with more than 300 old cars on display. Each has been restored properly and they are displayed in several intriguing locations. These include Main Street service stations, old car dealers and other locations of bygone days. Lots of fun for everyone !

The Gilmore truly offers something for everyone. There are hundreds of cars on site and they are well laid out. The exhibits, old car dealerships, gas stations, etc., are not to be missed. A first class car collection.

My husband builds classic cars as a hobby and has wanted to go to this museum for several years. There is so much to see. We were there about three hours and barely walked through most of the different barns. And, as a proud owner of a Hudson, he was thrilled to see an entire building devoted to the Hudson!!!... More

This place is a hidden treasure. You won't believe what a complete and professional collection they have. This is not a pole barn with some old cars in it. This is a first class educational and entertaining destination. You won't be disappointed.

I got the two day pass and it still wasn't enough time for me. They have one of a kinds and a lot of old tv classics in their collection. If you like old cars at all this place has it all.

We travel back and forth between Ann Arbor, MI & Chicagoland a number of times a year. There was an article about the Gilmore Auto Museum in our local paper so we put the museum on our list of possible things to visit on our way home. On our way home from last year's Cub game (We go to at... More

In December about half of the museum collection is closed but there is still enough to see to fill a day. This is the best car collection I have seen. It is amazing the number of Franklin's, Lincoln's, Model A Fords and Cadillac's you can see and many other vehicles too. It is so nice that unlike most car museums... More

This was my first time to the Gilmore. Everyone I had talked to that had been there told me I would love it and they were right! Had a nasty snow storm going on all day so there was virtually no one there! Was great because we could really get a good look at the cars without the crowds. I... More
