Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I enjoyed a swim here for $5.80 as they accepted my interstate student card. The centre is in Albert Park and easy to walk to or take the tram. Sadly the outdoor pool was being used for an event all day. I used the short lap lanes and had a go in the wave pool. A nice facility overall.

Having recently enjoyed the wave pool recently here with kids,
today was Solo for a Victorian table tennis tournament.
Terrific facilities including access to water fountains and modern toilets (clean!).
MSAC is a terrific facility overall. Spacious and varied for young and all.

Has been a favourite of our families for a number of years but the removal of the slide from the pool is a big disappointment. Still excellent varied facilities though for elite athletes

If you are into swimming this is the place for you. There are a number of pools depending on your skill level and age group. A number of other facilities as well and a cafe to finish off.

I used to really enjoy MSAC for a fun day at the pool, but it's fallen badly behind the times. The waterslide was a key draw of the facility, but evidently they have decided it's time to remove it without bothering to replace it. They try and fob you off by referencing their inflatables which are barely ever operating, and when they are they are usually over-run with unsupervised kids, and the inflatables don't really cater to a lot of kids of differing levels of ability in the water. I get that slides have a service life, but don't talk like replacing it with either like-for-like (or better, given it seems like most facilities can afford ProSlide these days, let alone what is supposed to be the city's premier aquatic facility) is impossible.
The sad fact is MSAC likes to see itself as almost solely of service to the 'elites' of the pool circuit, and pays only scant lip service to leisure swimmers and families where it has to in order to meet its Government commitments using assets that were installed decades ago. It doesn't meet the needs or many (most) Melburnians, and for this reason it seems like management needs an overhaul.
I certainly won't be back until the focus shifts back to where it ought to be - ably catering to both markets.

I was a casual visitor last week and very impressed with your facilities. To my dismay though one of your staff was walking around sneezing and coughing. I heard them saying to someone, I only have a cold. That is unacceptable at a time like this.

MSAC has been a favourite for my family for a number of years now, we have had lots of fun in the wave pool and especially the waterslide. We even bring interstate visitors to the centre as it’s a bit of a gem, so clean and has great facilities..... But things have unfortunately changed, the kiddie play pool isn’t what it used to be and then MSAC decided to remove the waterslide! My kids were bitterly disappointed with our recent visit (mostly due to the waterslide not being there) and it has prompted us to look to find another aquatic centre to go to. Don’t get me wrong, MSAC is still lovely and clean, but taking away the waterslide has taken the fun out of it. MSAC, what were you thinking....?!?
You’ve lost our custom, any I reckon lots of other customers too with your silly decision #bringbackthewaterslide

Hi Kate, thanks for your feedback. The waterslide was removed as it had come to its end of life and was unsafe, but we have a number of other fun activities for the whole family to enjoy, which you can read about here: https://melbournesportscentres.com.au/kids/family-activities We are also currently exploring other options for children’s activities across the venue. We’re sorry to see you go.

Definitely not what it used to be!
Water slide gone - new parking conditions (worse and more expensive).
Considering it was school holidays I would have thought Melbourne's premiere public pool would have made more of an effort to accommodate patrons, especially considering the cost involved in visiting.
VERY DISAPPOINTED MSAC!!!

Hi Peddaa. Thanks for your review. Our parking conditions have not changed recently. We do offer the first hour of parking for free, and members receive 3 hours of free parking per day. We understand the disappointment at seeing it gone, but unfortunately the water slide had come to the end of it's working life. We have added in a whole new range family friendly activities such as our inflatables. We hope you will give us another chance and visit us again soon.

Be aware of the parking.
Care Park will apply you different rates along the day so I totally not recommend to park there, look for another parking. You're advice MSAC doesn't look after their customers, as they don't want to be involved on any issue related with Care Park, as this is another company.

What would it cost me to be a casual user of the pool facilities to help with my back injury ??

A day pass cost me $8.50 Australian, plus $3 for a locker. (In late February 2018.). Make sure you check the website before you go as there may be occasional events or closures. You’ll love the hydrotherapy pool!
