Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Melbourne has many parks, but few can match Albert Park when it comes to facilities. The central lake is good for water sports such as sailing, canoeing and kayaking. The lake is stocked with fish, which will give anglers some enjoyable sporting fishing. International viewers all over the world will see Melbourne,s skyscrapers in the background as they watch the F1 Australian Grand Prix, schedulated to be held in April 2022.

Spent a glorious summer afternoon here in January with my husband and children and our toy poodle! We packed a picnic and chilled out whilst watching the kayakers on the lake and also some very photogenic black swans! A beautiful way to unwind with family and friends on a sunny day.

We went to Albert Park just to see the racetrack after watching the races on tv for many years. Great to drive around and see the pits, however the speed limit is reduced and bollards in place to ensure you can’t speed down the main straight.
Was pleasantly surprised though by the sporting facilities in the area and the number of people out and about.
Well worth a visit if you are staying close by or have access to a vehicle

This is the park where the Formula 1 Grand Prix race takes place. It was a pleasure to walk onto the starting grid. A well was open and we were able to see the size of the spaces where the teams work.
I'm going to see the Grand Prix from another angle.

Visited this area on a cold May morning. It was still busy with people jogging or walking around the lake. There sporting fields galore in this park park, as well as a golf driving range, rowing clubs parts of the Formula One Precinct and the Melbourne Sports Centres.

Albert Park seemed to be a bit busier than Bourke St on the weekends. We are distancing ourselves from others, so we headed here to avoid the crowds on Beaconsfield Pde, but it was still busy! Lots of respect from most, and distancing was easy. Lots of space!

Great place to walk the family around a lovely lake. Gets a bit windy at times but generally worth being out and about on a nice day. See ducks, geese and swans whilst walking the dog.

Great jog around park. Grass is green but if junk in the water but the Seans seem to love it. I was there day before closing for Grand Prix so was lucky to get a run in before closing. It’s about 4.2 k one way around.

We've been to this playground a couple of times and it's a great way to keep little children amused and burn off some energy!
It's got a wonderful array of activities and different zones depending on your child's age.

If you have small kids, this is a great place. There is a huge wooden fort style playground with lots of places to explore. Plenty of swings, slides, tunnels and various walkways and bridges. The play ground is fantastic and will keep the kids amused for at least a couple of hours. There are BBQ facilities and tables and grassed areas for a picnic. A lovely place to spend an afternoon in summer.

Hi Lou C,
There's lots of open space at Albert Park; great for a casual game of football, frisbee, jogging or a picnic. Playing on the fields shouldn't be an issue, as long as there's no games on!
The Visitor Guide (Park Note), map and calendar of events are listed on the Parks Victoria website to help you plan your visit.

Hi,
Other than F1 race, what is the Pit building used for between May to Dec?
Is the building rented out for other events and if so, what kind of events?
Who manages and maintain the building?
Thank you
Maidin

The pit building inside is turned into indoor soccer and netball courts i believe. The Supercars pit building is constructed for the event and the concrete it sits on is open air basketball courts.
