We were on vacation for a couple of days in Grand Rapids and are very glad we checked this place out. Our five year old daughter loved the place and you can fill a half a day here. I noticed some people had reviews complaining...More

This zoo is pretty nice...it was a warm day when decent so not a lot of animals were out. No worries, it was still nice. The kids 19 and 15 loved the high ropes challenge course. It cost $10 each but well worth it.

Besides the animals, there are playground areas, ropes course, etc. It was quite busy on a weekday in the summer. My 1-year-old liked the fish and the petting zoo.

The exhibits are laid out very nicely and the flow is really nice considering that you are going to be climbing up a tall hill. The Zip Line is something that I highly recommend and the petting zoo is something for your children to participate...More

I grew up on the East side of Michigan which meant many of my summer days were spent at the Detroit Zoo. The John Ball Zoo is definitely not as large, but it didn't disappoint! They have many attractions that distinguish this zoo from others....More
