The museum has great changing exhibits especially during ArtPrize. I love the amount of events they sponsor such as Yoga at the Gram, outdoor music shows in front of the building during the summer, and free Thursday nights. It's an excellent way to see the museum and experience the city and art.

Whenever I come to Grand Rapids for Art Prize, this is my first stop as it is a beautiful museum and displays unique pieces. They have a great gift shop where I can always find unique gifts for Christmas.

Even though they were in between some exhibits when I went there, the art I was able to see was well worth it. The explanations next to the pieces help you learn about the artist and the pieces themselves, and the museum is simple yet beautiful. I look forward to returning to see future exhibits.

Now I am not comparing this art museum to the 'greats' of the world, but I have been in small town art museums that have a much larger, better collection (such as Terre Haute, Youngstown, Davenport). The building itself is spacious and beautiful but their permanent collection is not worth going out of your way for - if you can... More

We decided to stop in and tour the museum while we were in town. Now I may be biased because I live in Cleveland and our art museum is huge and has a ton of art. I felt like there was hardly any art here. There are three floors in the museum and about two of three floors mainly had... More

The GR Art Museum is a worthwhile place for an hour or so. It's located downtown near lots of parking garages and lots. It has a lot of well known artists less known pieces and regularly features changing exhibits that are usually quite good. It has a decent gift shop and cafe.

The art here is always changing. Never a dull moment when you visit here. The museum is very open and bright. Elevator or stairs to upper floors.

A favorite venue for annual Art Prize Celebration in Sept-Oct. Exhibitions are unique and interesting. Even gift shop is great!

We've been members of the Grand Rapids Art Museum since it relocated to its new location. Absolutely wonderful place to visit, nice snack shop, great gift shop, and wonderful art. Right in the heart of Grand Rapids' thriving downtown.

I attended one of the stroller tours with my daughter and grand daughter. It was amazing! I was wondering if it would be worth the time. The attendees who it was focused on were mostly less than a year old, but they loved it. The docent had her own way of bringing them in. it was well worth the time... More
