Lots to do in the park. Things are spread out so you need a car or bike. No park service transportation is offered. Good family fun. Lots of exercise...hiking, swimming, dune climbing, biking, museums or just sitting on the beach. Great time.

Loved the dune climb...we made it about 2.5 miles in. Would do again, with this time going all the way. Well worth it, and absolutely stunning vistas.

Had a nice visit with the family in the evening. Great views. I wish we would have gone before dinner so we would have had more time.

We are avid hikers, with kids age 11, 10, 7, 5. We have hiked with them a lot, and 3.5 doesn’t sound like much, but the dunes trail to Lake Michigan is grueling, even for frequent hikers of different terrain. Go early in the day...More

Smooth trail, mostly shaded. The part nearest Empire has some challenging hills (11% grade), but it smooths out after the Dune Climb and into Glen Arbor.

We rented our bikes at „Crystal River Outfitters“ and took them out on the trail from Glen Arbor to the Dune Climb. This section of the trail is an easy ride with a good mix of sun and shade on a sunny day. For this...More
