Great stop for lunch and to let the kids play

A nice option for a family stop. Great views with a traditional cake/lunch option. To top it off a great playground in view of the outside lunch area to keep an eye on the kids... read more

It worth a visit but i would give up to high expectations. The location is more beautiful than the castle itself.

We truly enjoyed being there although it takes about an hour by car to get there. Amazingly beautiful scenes and a nice café to hangout and relax.

A nice option for a family stop. Great views with a traditional cake/lunch option. To top it off a great playground in view of the outside lunch area to keep an eye on the kids while they entertain themselves. The cakes were great, so was the coffe (I was told.. don't drink it myself) and a good selection of teas.... More

A beautiful castle located just by the lake, amazing views and nature. The park is pretty and simple and invites to a picnic and maybe one should go for a swim in the sea afterwards. The old stables have small boutiques and sometimes there's an auction event or an artist holding an exhibition.

A somewhat legendary cafe which excels in cookies, pastries and cakes. Can be very crowded in weekends, especially in the summer so I recommend a visit during weekdays. Environment is pretty and offers a nice park for a walk after the largest cake selection in Northern Europe (?) has been enjoyed.

Nice day trip, a lovely old castle where you can eat as many pastries as you possible can get down. What else can you ask for?

Visited taxinge slott for some lunch with family. The cafe was busy but the queue moving. The till seems to be in the wrong place, leading to confusion especially if ordering hot food and having to collect it after paying. That said sandwiches were tasty and filling and cakes were lovely. The grounds are something else, just beautiful. The shops... More

Being quite a fan of sweets, our friends drove us out to Taxinge Slott for what they described as the ultimate Swedish coffee break: fika. Taxinge Slott offers the most amazing selection of cakes, pastries, and Swedish specialties, with sandwiches too. We arrived at the perfect time, around 11am on Sunday, where there weren't too many people and there was... More

Yesterday my boyfriend and I took the train to the charming town of Mariefred and took the vintage steam boat across the water to Taxinge Slott for the famous cake and biscuit buffet. When we arrived at 3pm there was a queue out the door of the main building so our anticipation grew and our tummies were rumbling. The people... More

Good ambience at little manor used as a café with a sizeable range of pastries on offer. Service is really like a cafeteria not what you would expect from a European café in a classical architectural gem: queuing like at bording school but prices are rather exhorbitant. Pastries are ok ( and there's many of them) but this is not... More
