The first uphill dune will make you question the whole thing. BUT once you get up the first one the rest aren't as bad. There are a series of ups and downs over various sized dunes. Hiking them is fun but if you aren't used...More

After the first big dune of ~400 ft, the 3.5 mile round trip hike to Lake MI is manageable with the right equipment (hat, sunscreen, prodigious amount of water). I wore hiking boots, but my teens did it alternating between bare feet and flip-flops. It...More

Hiked with wife and 2 small kids - ended up running up and down the dunes over and over - felt like a kid again. One of our favorite experiences

A must do for avid hikers with beautiful views and trails to enjoy. Bring water on hot days and keep hydrated. A real workout.

We hiked this trail in August. The day we hiked was overcast - probably a good thing. IT would be a hot hike if the sun was bright and warm. We enjoyed walking the open dunes with the views of Lake Michigan. Lots of variety...More
