Water Street Gallery has been our favorite venue for meaningful and inspiring fine art in the Saugatuck/Douglas area for many years. The gallery today featured abstract paintings, prints, and sculpture in a show titled "Puzzle: Putting the Pieces Together." I especially enjoyed the paintings by Toni Doilney and Amy Falstrom--both painters whose bold colors, techniques, and compositions are striking, intense,... More

So often in an art gallery I wonder "why?. But here I usually end up loving almost everything there. Great taste in art and artists. Stop in and enjoy. I promise it will be fun and lovely.

My husband and I made a point of visiting Douglas to see the art galleries. (I'm a painter.) Water Street Gallery was by far my favorite of the 5 or 6 we visited. Check out this gallery for a quality selection of Michigan-inspired art.

Last Fall, my cousin and I took a road trip to Michigan. Our first stop, when we arrived was the Water Street Gallery. We were intrigued by the sculpture outside, and when we entered, we both started crying. Behind the front door, was an original painting of a young African American Girl, holding an old acoustic guitar. As a grown... More

My wife is an art museum docent and we are modest art collectors, so we tend to visit a lot of museums and galleries on vacation. We stopped in the Water Street on the main shopping street in Douglas to fill some time on our way back from the beach and found it to be a real gem. High quality... More

The range of talents, media, and art forms is as diverse as the owner herself. The garden display of outdoor sculptures and consists of many different media's, each expressing a particular artists talents. Definitely top drawer. They are very exclusive on the artists they represent, and while I said I wouldn't purchase another 'Hansen" original piece, two days after I... More
