I think all Detroiter's were excited, including myself, to here about the Ford Motor Companies purchase of Michigan Central Station and it's plans to bring this historic beauty back to it's former glory, after years of neglect by the Moroun family. While it'll be a few years before the work is complete, Ford has a nearby information center on Michigan Ave manned by friendly and knowledgeable students from the University of Michigan. There are several displays and videos providing information on Ford's plans for the building and it's Corktown campus. There's also a few artifacts recovered from the building, including a very old Stroh's beer bottle. This longtime symbol of decline, will soon become a symbol of Detroit's comeback, thanks to Bill Ford.

Way to bad you can't get inside. A lot of security and a fence around. So it's pretty far to even see the building.

Ford has been putting on tons of events for the community which is wonderful. In January we were able to go on the last day and check out the videos and pictures. It was set up wonderfully. Little shops were inside the heated tent and food vendors were available. It was beautiful.

A beautiful building that is going to be fully restored by the Ford Motor Family. A must see for all residents and visitors. They have started renovation and have featured some events.
