The Detroit People Mover (DPM) is a fully automated light rail system that operates on an elevated single-track loop in Detroit's central business district. Launched in 1987, the system’s 13 stations provide quick connections between the courts and administrative offices of several levels of government, sports arenas, exhibition centers, major hotels, and commercial, banking and retail districts. Service is frequent and unencumbered by vehicle or pedestrian traffic, and at just 75 cents per ride, it’s the best bargain in town!

Good to get around Detroit. Lots of security. Only get off at your spot as there is a lot of vacant or empty places between stops.

We are from New York, where trains are EVERYWHERE and cost you an arm and a leg. They are usually late, rarely clean, and just in general a real hassle. The People Mover is amazing, it's .75¢ for as many loops as you want, it's also clean, and is not a pain to use. It goes on a simple loop... More

I enjoy riding the People Mover. It's a great way to get around downtown Detroit. It's also a great way to view parts of the city.

Not sure why this ride that only takes you through a very limited and super short route could be considered an attraction! If you are from a rural area with no real downtown you might think this is a cool thing but it is hardly worth a review!

Used the people mover to get the the Red Wings game. Super Impressed with the cleanliness of the train. Would definitely recommend as a form of transportation.

Excellent resource to get around downtown Detroit. I never visit without taking several rides on the people mover. It gets me where I need to go quickly and for a very cheap price!

This was recommended to us and turned out to be a great piece of advice. Costing only a fraction, it does a continuous loop of the main parts of Downtown with lots of picturesque views.

Thank you for the review. The historic architecture can be appreciated next to lots of renovations and new construction. We hope you will return to the city and use the People Mover to explore all of the great experiences downtown Detroit offers. More

Went to the North American Auto Show this weekend and used the Detroit People Mover. Very convenient and very clean. The stations are small, however, so it's awkward for people getting on and off and they had police there helping direct the flow of traffic. If you're in the downtown area, definitely the way to go and for $1 a... More
