We spend a Saturday afternoon at Belle Isle and had a great time. Lots of things to do and see. We visited the Lighthouse, the Aquarium and the Conservatory. Really family friendly and lots of sights and sounds.

This place is a hidden jewel. It is clean, safe and beautiful - we ride our bikes down here but you can walk, run, or just relax in the botanical gardens and greenhouse. Visit the Great Lakes maritime museum or watch the freghters go by!

There is much to see here, so choosing might be a problem. For some reason, this Saturday, the State Park was almost deserted. That made parking much easier than when we visited last year. The aquarium was our first stop, as it is nostalgic, as...More

I'm sure I'm just jumping on the bandwagon here, but since it has become a state park, Belle Isle is killing it. If you haven't been here since the change has been made, do yourself a favor and don't wait another day.

The park was prettier than I remembered it from my first visit 30 years ago. I give a bit shout-out to the State of Michigan for their management of this treasure! It was absolutely beautiful. They should maintain management of it forever instead of just...More

We visited and strolled the grounds and green houses. Lovely. The early 20th century aquarium has been renovated and is sweet. Made me imagine top hatted gentlemen strolling with ladies in long gowns on there arms.
