A highlight of Detroit. Great exhibits, and even a fine food area with homemade items and plenty of seating. Really a world class museum. Plan on spending 3-4 hours.

DIA, was a experience I almost forgot about, it was different remembering thing from my childhood, not paying attention to the history around, growing up looking at the museum in a different way,I was at a expo and enjoy every bit of it...

Greeted by the Rodin Thinker, the exterior is impressive. Serves as a backdrop for wedding pictures. The atrium features Diego Rivera's Detroit Industry. This is an awesome place to go,i took my 29 year old daughter and we had alot of fun, before we left we went downstairs and had a drink, it was nice

A great art gallery. I highly recommend taking a free tour when you get there to get a good overview then explore on your own. There is an area where you can try to sketch one of the pieces.

It is $12.50 for adults and $6.00 for children. If you are a resident of Wayne, Oakland, or Macomb county you can get in for free. Also if you are a student be sure to bring your ID, the price is $7.00 for students.

The Inn on Ferry Street is a bed and breakfast one block from the DIA. Other than that, you will have to stay 2-3 miles away, either at the St.Regis on West Grand Blvd. or in one of the hotels downtown. The MotorCity... More
