The exhibits are good, though a bit outdated perhaps - other than the rotating one which costs more. The staff, however, are the warmest I've ever encountered at a science museum.

There are wonderful and intriguing exhibits. The planetarium is a must. We always enjoy the mineral exhibits. It is perfect for pre-teens and especially the 4-9 year olds.

Never heard of the Cranbrook institute. Recommended by a friend at the hotel so off we went. This is a prep school tucked away on some of the most beautiful grounds we've ever seen. Went to see the Institute of science. Not large but packed...More

Good place for kids to have some quality time in understanding the exhibits related to science. They can have interaction and provide some guided tours by the museum staff. Excellent collection for a small place.

very small museum. exhibits were difficult to understand. definitely geared toward the pretentious people that make up the "institute". couldn't see paying extra for the planetarium featuring a sesame street show.

This little museum is great for many reasons. The normal exhibits are nice and fun for local kids. Also, they ave great programs and special events throughout the year--especially in the planetarium.
