Through aircraft displays and precious artifacts, the Yankee Air Museum teaches guests about aviation technology and the importance of flight through past wars and and the emergence of commercial aviation in the United States. Yankee Air Museum offers a wealth of educational programs and excels with STEM programming specifically developed for children grades K-12. The Yankee Air Museum also hosts the THUNDER OVER MICHIGAN™ Air Show at Willow Run Airport that has become one of the premier annual aviation events in the country. Guests also have the opportunity to purchase tickets for a once in a lifetime ride on one of our flyable aircraft: B-17, B-25, C-47, and Waco Biplane. It was a hot day, there is no air conditioning in the museum. But the artifacts on display are quite nice. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, and was able to answer every question thrown his way. A nog to missmuseum.

Loved taking the kids here today. There was a great kid space that we all enjoyed; you can tell they care very much about including younger kids in the museum. Definitely a neat stop!

Although we do not have a B-29 Superfortress, we do have a flying, B-17G Flying Fortress and a flying, B-25 Mitchell bomber.
