If you bike or walk the Riverwalk path you are sure to come across the Veterans Memorial Park. There are a few areas to host large family picnics. But unless you have paid for one of the covered picnic areas, the only bathrooms open are...More

We walked quite a ways to get to the park as parking around there is a challenge. Arriving about 3 hours ahead of the fireworks was no problem. The grassy area was pleasant, there was a nice sidewalk along the river and there is a...More

Gorgeous, large park on the western bank of the Saginaw River. Very nicely manicured lawns of green mounds and nice flower beds and serpentine walkways past lush willow tress. Prepare for a long healthy walk if you do the entire length and take in the...More

We walked through Veterans Park during the 2016 Tall Ships Celebration, and the park was very busy but not overcrowded. We enjoyed walking over the Lafayette Street Bridge to get to the park, and enjoyed seeing the Huey medevac helicopter on display and the views...More
