This is a well keep up park with the amenities you like to enjoy when you're camping or on a day visit. The beach is nice, good access, and with plenty of picnic and pavilion areas. The campsite is extremely well kept up and the bathrooms as clean as I've seen in a long time. There is a wifi attached... More

My daughter invited me to go for a walk with her and her dog. We had a great time. I was surprised at how well kept the park and paths were. The park was full of families of all types. We really loved the Swan Family in the pond. Thank you

The park is very beautiful. Many trails to walk or bike and the beach is very nice. Truly a great place to spend a day exploring.

This updates a previous review entitled "A Non-swimmer's perspective." This year on our annual July 4 camp-out, we discovered that the MUCK has been removed and replaced by genuine Michigan sand! So get your pails and shovels, kids, and dig, build, enjoy! (I still can't swim but the wading is great!) And the Bay City 3-day fireworks at the 4th... More

We parked our RV at the very clean and quiet campground and spent the day walking trails, swimming and hanging out. A nice water park for the kids also. Lots of activities for kids and pets welcomed. The Tobico Marsh Trail is a birders paradise. Loved going out early in the morning to watch the birds nest and fly around... More

The Bay City State Park features some cool (paved) walking trails, a nice boardwalk around the "lagoon" area, and a slightly murky, but serviceable beach. If you're looking for a higher quality beach experience close to the Tri-Cities, I would recommend Oscoda and Caseville, in that order. The Bay City State Park is definitely a nice place for a picnic... More

Having this wonderful beach so close to us but not really being able to use it was heartbreaking. At long last, the muck that was made worse by the wetlands is gone. Once again, the beach is beautiful and can be enjoyed in all of it's wonderful glory.

We camped at Bay City Recreation Area several times over 10 years ago but hadn't been there in over a decade until today. We had a day off from work and wanted to hike and enjoy being outside without driving too far and the Visitors Center and trails around Tobico Marsh were perfect. We saw beaver lodges and many different... More

This is advice, not a complaint: Pay close attention to the map or sign, or you might find yourself on a long walk in Tobico Marsh (by bearing to the left and crossing a bridge) when you instead intended to make a much shorter walk to the first observation tower (by bearing to the right). Perhaps the time of day... More

It was nice, clean and staff was great. Suggest they update the site, an inground pool, bouncy ground, continue outside theater..theme /craft days
