Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have spent summers here since 1965 and have always enjoyed the drawbridge. I now live here. In the past, as a pedestrian or bike rider, you could help the bridge tender by opening/closing the gates. That seems to be frowned on more recently; this made up for by the bridge tender's love of dogs.
I was here in 2009 when the old bridge was removed and a new one put in. A pedestrian walkway was maintained through the construction.
The traffic light at the bridge is the only one in Woods Hole and the bridge opens on the hour and half hour if there are boats wanting to enter or exit Eel Pond.

The day we were in Woods hole, the drawbridge was not manned, and thus could not see it in operation or tour the office area. It is a small bridge, which definitely needs to open for any kind of sailboat. Nice to see, but do not plan your trip around seeing this.

Figuring out what those graffiti arts mean under the drawbridge makes you different from regular tourists. It has a strong nerdy influence from it's marine biology history. The evidence is the 4th of July Parade in this little downtown. Enjoy!

My grandpa once said 'only drawbridge is the real bridge.' This small drawbridge reminds me my grandpa. Every time I stopped my car or paused my jogging, you look into the scenary bay for the boat that stops the traffic, you carried out conversation with the people who stuck with you, you know a little more about the people and you always learn new things about Cape Cod. This drawbridge is the heart of the culture. When the bridge is open, it goes into a small town of MBL academics. Small museums and shops are simply more attractive than tourist-polluted Falmouth main street. The sunshine and the Stoney Beach are simply more soothing than other Cape Cod towns.

Just makes me feel good that this quaint little drawbridge exists. A treasure in the modern world. If you can, have a meal at the Fishmongers Cafe and hope to catch the bridge being raised.

Everybody loves to watch the Eel Pond Bridge open for boats to pass by. Opens every 30 minutes during the summer.

We arrived in Woods Hole and were lucky enough to see the drawbridge go up. I would not call this a tourist attraction but it was very nice to see.

The kids enjoyed seeing this and honestly so did I. The draw bridge rises often but it's not for long and worth seeing several times!

Hard for me to count this as an attraction, but my wife and grand son were mesmerized by the draw bridge. We ate at the Fish Mongers restaurant next to the bridge. We sat at the corner of the restaurant where we could see the bridge. every time the bridge went up so did my wife and grand son. Amazing!

My wife and I recently cruised from Boston to Woods Hole (specifically Eel Pond) and it requires going through the draw bridge. Although the bridge opens only on the half hour and with advance radio hail, the bridge operators have always been responsive and professional.
