We often as a family wanted to go Kayaking on the Cape and we finally did it the end of August 2017. My 10 year old daughter and I shared a kayak, while my 12 year old son rented a Paddle board. We all had...More

My husband and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary with a kayak ride on Cape Cod. We called different companies (there are many) to see about taking a tour. We have our own kayaks but wanted to learn more about the marine life and the...More

We were happy to just show up and immediately rent kayaks without a reservation. We rented two tandem kayaks with a child riding jumpseat in each boat. The people helping us were excellent. We did a two hour rental and went down the river to...More

We had an absolute blast paddle boarding on Bass River. In our group of 5, 1 had paddle boarded on a lake. The staff was knowledgeable and patient and very encouraging. The best advice was spending a few extra dollars on a waterproof case for...More

Nice people. Quality equipment. Totally fun. A lot of boats on Bass River so not a wilderness experience but perfect outing for our family of four. Kids 11 and 6. Two on paddle board and two in a tandem kayak. An hour and a half...More

What's a trip to cape cod without spending time ON the water? 90 minute kayak was just what I was looking for - exercise, outdoors, fun on a beautiful day. Will be back!

Took my 19 year old daughter to paddle board on the Bass River. The folks working there were helpful and friendly, gave good instruction and answered all questions thoroughly, a professional outfit for sure! The wind picked up shortly after we started which made paddling...More

The Bass River Kayaks rents out kayaks at a reasonable price. We, two adults and two teenagers, kayaked on the Bass River for about 90 minutes. It was a fun, relaxing afternoon. We would all do it again. Staff was friendly and gave a quick...More

Many boaters are expressing frustration due to kayak and paddle board renters traveling in the clearly marked boating Channel on the Bass River. We've heard some renters say "you don't own the river" when we've politely suggested to them to safely travel outside of the boating Channel when you see boaters in their designated areas. For their own safety, kayak and paddle board renters should be educated to stay out of the boating Channel and safely near shore. Can an educational program be given to each renter before someone gets accidentally injured ??? It Only takes one accident to spoil a fun day on the water. Tourists need to be educated... Who should provide that education? Hopefully you will take that responsibility seriously so that everyone can enjoy a great day and feel safe on the water. Thanks!

Agreed, to a point. I can only speak for my own trip but we were clearly instructed by the staff to keep outside the boating channel and we did this to the best of our ability. One potential problem though is that the... More

Kayaking is the easiest- between kayak, canoe, and paddle board. The 13 year old might like to try paddle boarding since it's a new sport & very popular right now- you could always rent a 2 solo kayaks and a paddle board... More
