Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have been diving with The Dive Shack since 2016. They have excellently trained, lovely staff who are always so welcoming and personable. Their knowledge of equipment and diving has helped choose the gear most appropriate for myself and the diving I wanted to do - cold or warm water exposure suits, types of fins, which mask to name a few. I have received several dives qualifications through their guidance and instruction. I’ve been on several trips both in Australia and overseas with them. They’re organised so everything ran smoothly and I had the best time doing it. The staff and owners have always encouraged and nurtured my love of diving. I have them to thank for many happy memories and experiences. I would recommend them to anyone from beginners to those just looking for a great group to have as your dive buddies. I can’t wait for my next trip with The Dive Shack!

Couldn't praise the Dive Shop's Open Water PADI course enough. My daughter and I did it and Caitlin was absolutely superb. She was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable and kept it upbeat and fun yet was tough when she needed to be. Staff at the shop were great. They had good suggestions for quality equipment yet weren't pushy. I felt like I was challenged yet in the best hands possible.
The only thing that could be improved is the clunky PADI elearning, however this is beyond The Dive Shacks control.

Paul, at The Dive Shack, was knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. He was quick to respond to my messages, and managed to fit me in last minute with a dive trip.
His boat is powerful and quickly got us out to our dive spot, Aldinga Pinnacles. It was an interesting dive site, with a variety of fish- some I’d never seen before.
I highly recommend The Dive Shack if you are in or around Adelaide and planning a dive.
Thanks Paul, and your team, for an amazing experience.

I completed an open water course with the Dive Shack last year. I was very anxious about diving but it was something I wanted to do and I was determined to overcome my fears. All the staff were so professional and took the time to make sure that I felt comfortable and safe before progressing through the course. I ended up doing a solo course which was brilliant for me as I could set the pace. I bought my own gear including wet suit as it was much more comfortable and made me feel more at ease throughout the course knowing my own equipment. The staff will ensure you get the right fit and they have a fantastic range with the best brands. They ordered a different size wet suit in for me which arrived in only 3 days. Since completing the course I've had emails from the staff to check how I'm progressing and inviting me to social dives. You can also become part of their Facebook page and see when others are going diving if you don't have a buddy. It's such a good way to meet new people and get in the water more often. All the staff are welcoming, educated about their business and passionate about diving. Their range of courses on offer suits everyone from a beginner to an advanced diver looking at specialising in something. If you have any need for a dive shop, always go to the Dive Shack to see Paul and his team. Thanks to the Dive Shack I have conquered my fear of the regulator and the water and have since been diving in Hawaii!

I have been visiting The Dive Shack for all my diving needs for close to 2 years now and haven't needed to step foot in any other dive shop in Adelaide.
Their weekly boat dives to the various reefs and ship wrecks are professional and fantastic, a great value for money day out.
I have also completed my Open Water, Deep, Wreck, Nitrox, Boat, Stress and Rescue, Free Diving, Night Diving courses with their friendly, flexible instructors. Courses run regularly and the instructors seem flexible to cater for people who work unusual hours like myself.
The shop itself has a great range of equipment, and special stock orders are placed and arrive in around a weeks time.
Fantastic place, 100% recommend!

I did this course after wanting to for over a decade. It cost me about $1k for the entire course which included the PADI online learning (out of The Dive Shack's control), a theory lesson, a skills pool session, two jetty dives and two boat dives. A further two boat dive voucher was also provided and I got fins, snorkel, mask and a good wetsuit.
My instructor was Cley and he was both personable and knowledgeable. I felt confidence in him and therefore in myself to achieve all the competencies required. Alana was also involved in my training and both were brilliant. I was in a group of 4 so there was plenty of 1 on 1 training.
There boat is fully equipped and they do regular trips both locally, nationally and internationally. I would recommend them to anyone. Fantastic experience.

This is the most expensive and unprofessional dive shop in Adelaide. We have so many better options for dive stores here in SA so don’t bother!

Just had an awesome day out diving with the Dive Shack on the Naughty Nomad. The captain, Paul was very professional and safety was at the forefront of all of our dives. I would highly recommend diving with them if your are visiting Adelaide in the near future.
What also made it a great was the speed of the boat and how quickly we could get out to the dives sites. Two dives done and back in time for a Sunday lunch; it does not get better than that!
