While on vacation, we decided to visit the Pamet River. It was beautiful. There is a fish peer here, and a small harbor. This place is very picturesque with an excellent view of the channel which empties into the bay.

It takes a little exploration off the beaten path but you see a mostly natural area with some nice photo ops. Charter boats are available from the harbor area too. Very tranquil and a pleasant quick visit.

Follow North Pamet Road north to the Education Center (a hostel during the summer) and park in the lot on the right. Enter the trail across the road and be prepared for a strenuous but delightful hike. About 1/2 mile up the hill are two summits -- East and West -- with full views of the Pamet Valley on one...
