This American religious site is awesome. Nestled in rolling hills St. Joseph Abbey and bell tower is so beautiful in any season and in any weather. It is located about 50 miles from Boston, Providence, Hartford and Springfield, MA. Bring your spirit and your camera and be sure to visit the religious bookstore.

Wonderful on several levels, I love the beauty of the landscape and the monastery church. The monks sing wonderfully at their prayer times. The gift shop has a lot too not to mention the new beer.

I'm not sure why others come to the Abbey, but this place is such a wonderful, quiet, peaceful place to just take in nature and reflect. My son had his photos taken there. The stone monastery is striking and welcomes guests to come in pray or reflect. You are free to walk the grounds. There is a gift shop when... More

If you stop at the Abbey I would recommend arriving about 4 or 4:15 and visit the gift store. Jams are excellent. Then go to the chapel on the hill and listen to Vespers, on Sunday they Started at 5:10 pm and ended 5:50 pm truly a wonderful experience. We will return! We also went to Ladd's Grill and Bar... It's a beautiful place. You can breath peace here. Take time to pray, to listen to meditate. Don't forget a stop at their store to get their jellies and many other fun finds.

If you need to get away from life, this is the place to go. It is very quiet and picturesque The scenery is open and puts you at ease. The chapel itself is quiet and gives you a sense of peace. This is where you can recharge, center yourself or just relax. It's worth the drive, especially in the spring... More

The store here is so nice then to walk up the quiet hill . Look at the woods and the river. This so peace full . Then at the top of the hill the chapel is good place to stop to pray. Love it here. Many good memories here for us. .

What a beautiful place! Upon arriving you immediately begin to sense how peaceful it is. It seems to clear your mind for the moments your there, away from technology and the hustle and bustle! The Abbey and Chapel are set high on a hill near the heavens where you can visit. It's definetly a place to go. They also have... More
