I might skip the movie next time but the glass demonstration was nice. My daughter got some free glass marbles included with the kids admission price. Alex was the glassblower. My daughter was excited that at the end of the tour she was able to find a swan that Alex made. He packed it up in a box for her... More

We stopped here after 4 PM. When I entered, the clerk informed me that all glass blowing demonstrations were done for the day and the place was going to close at 5. Admission is $9.00, even with only one hour to tour the facility. I misunderstood the clerk and thought it was okay to walk through and take pictures. When... More

5 adults visited the museum, one serious glass collector, others along for fun. We saw demo of glass blowing/forming/pressing and toured the exhibits. 1-1.5 hour visit is perfect to see all. Don't miss the video/hologram exhibit with period furnishings and dinner hostess 'talking' about her glass table ware... it's tucked away, but well worth the 5 min. to view. Younger... More

This place is located in the historical town of Sandwich, lots to do around this area. Visited the museum like a 'tourist' and had a glass display demonstration. She broke a lot of glass but ultimately made a vase. In the early 1700's almost all the trees were cut down on the Cape, hence you see these 'scrub' trees that... More

You learn about glass blowing from an expert demonstration. You see a film about the history of glass-making in Sandwich, which began one year after Beethoven composed his 9th Symphony. You see beautiful glass from the earliest period to the present. And there is a good shop to boot.

Have been visiting the Cape for a long time, but had never visited here. Turns out we should have gone long ago - it was very interesting and informative without being boring or too scholarly. Exhibits were great, but the highlight was the glass blowing demonstration - informative and very entertaining! Well worth a visit!!

The website advises getting there before 3:30 and that is good advice. There is an informative historical documentary that runs about 17 minutes and runs every half hour, and during the slower seasons the actual glass blowing demonstration is once an hour. The documentary voiceover seemed a bit bored with his own script. The film did have closed captioning. The... More

Thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful and educational museum. The staff are so friendly and everything is so clean. Lots of history, great demonstration of blowing glass! If you volunteer to assist, they give you a little gift! The displays are just gorgeous. If you decide to purchase any glassware, they wrap them and box them up beautifully.

The Sandwich Glass Museum offers exhibits displaying the history of glassmaking through the ages with a focus on Cape Cod's contributions to American glassworks. Offers live demonstrations by an expert glassblower on how glass is heated and shaped with hand tools.

Beautiful glass museum. Interesting local and general history of glass and how it's made. Enjoyed taking my Mom there. Created wonderful memories and new conversations.
