The falls were outstanding the path was leaf covered so there were some slippery spots especially because of the rain last night. The path stays close to the stream and from Doane Hill Road and Athol Rd parking spot each falls gets better than the next - the major falls is even available for the handicap on a wide small... Read some sites where this is considered a moderate hike. I feel that this is a false representation. After leaving the parking lot (where we did not take a photo of the map, bad decision) we walked up and down hills for quite some time. Only one sign the entire way and once we got to a pool and a... This is a fairly short but somewhat challenging hike. Start at the parking area on RT 32 (Not far north of the road that leads to Tully Lake Campground). You hike down into a ravine and back up again. Wife and I loved the falls which at one point disappear under a rock outcropping and reappear when you hike further... More

Went to see the falls. The map out front at the trail head was very faded and it appeared that there was a trail loop presumably to the falls and back. We followed the Tully Trail which was yellow painted dots on trees. The trails were filled with orange salamanders which was cool to see. Spent most of our time... More

Short hike to a nice plunging waterfall. Overnight shelter close by and a very family-friendly hike.

Very nice spring hike to the falls. Be careful as it can be very muddy in places. There are cliffs around the falls so being careful is a must. Two different ways to get there. One a short hike maybe 3/10th of a mile and the other is about 1 1/2 miles.

After reading an article in the Boston Globe this past summer, we decided to take a trip out to Royalston, MA to try to find the 3 waterfalls mentioned in the article. Who knew there are waterfalls in MA? We relied on our GPS along with maps downloaded from the internet. Our first stop was Royalston Falls. This was the... More

This was our first and last trip to Royalston Falls. I didn't realize there isn't a visitor center or parking lot. We first entered a gravel road that became impossible to drive along, even for my SUV. We tried another road and encountered the same problem. We met 2 women on horseback who told us we just had to park along... More

Recently made the hike from Royalston Falls to Doane's Falls in Royalston MA. The day was hot and bright and it was very humid. This is about a 10 mile hike to see some of the most magnificent water falls in the state if not New England. The beginning of the trip is fairly difficult with many elevation changes but... More

Getting here was tough, I came from Falls Road, and there was no sign for the falls. After following the online instructions, I finally found it. Hint: look for the sign that says "Connection Trail" it is the only sign with words for miles. Once I got there, WOW. Such a big and beautiful sight. The terrain is a little... More
