This quaint old structure defines the harbor at Rockport and reminds one of the rustic and hard scrabble existence of those that were here many decades ago.

This is a must-see when in Rockport. There isn't much to see though as its not open to the public. It is however an icon and you should walk around it and view it from different angles, including from across the water.

It is stunning, beautiful and without doubt a highlight of our 7 days in New England. Rockport is a beautiful town and has everything to offer. This little harbour makes for the most beautiful photos and oozes New England charm.

This spot is so quintessentially coastal New England that it has been painted, it is said, more than any other spot. Best viewed from outside the visitors' center, but alas, parking nearby for not-residents is a challenge. Plan to walk!

We were pulled to this spot while walking but even realizing it was one of the top things to do. Nice little spot.

Pretty scenery around/ photographic spot. I recently read that it's America's #1 painted building, so worth checking out and snapping a few pictures. It's right by the harbor at the end of main street, so doesn't hurt to pay a visit.

Now I know why this is called the #1 Motif, Amazing scenery, views and feeling, very picturesque area, besides the obvious, if you are an artist, photographer or someone who just appreciates good art and views, this place is for you!

We had read about this attraction but found it to be rather underwhelming. It is just a former fishing shed on the edge of the quay which happens to stand more or less on its own. We didn't think that it was worth wasting very...More
