An informative center, great for kids and adults
Jan. 2020 • Family
A great center, in Hervey Bay, with lots of information about the whale migration, and history of the area. The lady at the front desk was lovely and friendly. We also looked through the adjoining art gallery, where some local artists displayed some works, it was beautiful. The large whale sculpture out the front it truly beautiful too.

Is that where my rates money went?

Truly woeful is all I can say. 4 staff standing around with nothing to do and nothing of interest in the 'Sphere' whatsoever. Obviously not maintained, 'exhibits' lacking in information, badly signed and looking unkempt. Do not go in as you'll be out within minutes.
Here's a tip for you FCRC; There's a lot more to Hervey Bay than a few photos of whales. Where's it's history? The Kanakas, the Butchulla, the Danes.....

Informative and interesting - worth the visit
Nov. 2019
This pretty new centre is definitely worth the visit. Plenty of information boards about not only the whales, but all the other kinds of flora and fauna in the area. Interactive items for the kids too.

There were 2 art displays going on when we visited too, which were interesting to see.

Staff very helpful and attentive.

Excellent Low Cost Attraction
Jul. 2019 • Family
Great visit to the attraction which is informative, educational and very interesting. Our trip also coincided with a presentation from a proprietor of a local dingo rescue centre who brought one of his rescinded dingoes in. There was also a indigenous digereedo player who provided a demonstration of his craft skills. Great venue and well worth the few dollars entrance fee. Good photo opportunity as well

You have to get a photo or 12. This is really cool plenty of parking get a few different angles. The roadside side from what I can remember is the best pic.

Very Interesting

Fraser Coast has done a magnificent job in setting up various tourist attractions, the Discovery Sphere being one of them. The displays are well set up and it is worth taking the time to read the interesting facts about the items and the history.
