Marine Specialties has been a Provincetown landmark for over 50 years. Often known simply as "the army-navy store," Marine Specialties is an eclectic treasure trove of salvage, surplus, slight IRs, closeouts, overruns, misprints, mistakes, spare parts, odd lots, cast-offs, and new and nearly-new items. Over time it's grown to be the kind of jumbled, inclusive, and eccentric "army-navy" store Provincetown deserves. Many people young and old call this their favorite shop. History Started in 1961 by Bob and Elizabeth Patrick as a Retail Mail Order business with a small hand illustrated catalog. Marine Specialties evolved into an eclectic Army Navy store during the 1960's.The Patrick's have traveled the world hunting down the unusual and unique. Since 1970 they have supplied other stores worldwide, although predominantly in the US and Japan. Three generations now work in this long established family business Open Daily in season.

Marine Specialties has the most eclectic and bizarre inventory of almost any shop I've been to! A fun place to poke around and find gifts for people back home. Loved it.

We have always loved to visit Marine Specialties - and tend to go several times during any visit to P-Town. You just never know what you're going to find that you missed on your last visit. We collect license plates and they have the best...More

Great stuff here but you have to work for it. I found a cute shirt and some scrapbooking supplies. Inkadinkado rubber stamps for $3 and $2 - they are usually around $10 at craft stores. Such a deal! A lot of military gear like wool...More

I wouldn't give it a 4 but my teenagers and 80-year-old mom love to go back every time we're in ptown. Highly recommend a visit even if it's just to see the collection of weird stuff.

This is a great place full of desirable (from my point-of-view) kitsch and junk. Clothes, hats, nautical stuff, more than miscellany than I can describe. Definitely a must-stop along Commercial Street.

It's a retail store...it's a permanent garage sale...it's a surplus outlet. You've got to be very patient when shopping here. There's loads of crap. Then every once in a while there's something perfect and just for you. Yes...a great deal is contrived and make believe...More

My sister and I decided to make this year's Christmas Shopping fun and we did. Marine Specialties in Provincetown was just the place. Scarves for the brothers from Tipperary Ireland, hats from Ecuador, a little jacket with the sweetest pearl buttons for our best friend,...More

This store has been a ritual for me since childhood. Always good for a find. Over the years though it has declined. Less random stuff and more chatchky tourist stuff.

An absolutely horrible place to visit. Eclectic doesn't cover it. Too much stuff crammed inyo too little space. Stear clear and save your money.
