Description:

Marine Specialties has been a Provincetown landmark for over 50 years....

Marine Specialties has been a Provincetown landmark for over 50 years. Often known simply as "the army-navy store," Marine Specialties is an eclectic treasure trove of salvage, surplus, slight IRs, closeouts, overruns, misprints, mistakes, spare parts, odd lots, cast-offs, and new and nearly-new items. Over time it's grown to be the kind of jumbled, inclusive, and eccentric "army-navy" store Provincetown deserves. Many people young and old call this their favorite shop. History Started in 1961 by Bob and Elizabeth Patrick as a Retail Mail Order business with a small hand illustrated catalog. Marine Specialties evolved into an eclectic Army Navy store during the 1960's.The Patrick's have traveled the world hunting down the unusual and unique. Since 1970 they have supplied other stores worldwide, although predominantly in the US and Japan. Three generations now work in this long established family business Open Daily in season.

My sister and I decided to make this year's Christmas Shopping fun and we did. Marine Specialties in Provincetown was just the place. Scarves for the brothers from Tipperary Ireland, hats from Ecuador, a little jacket with the sweetest pearl buttons for our best friend, even a miniature sailor hat to put on a photo of Meher Baba for a... This store has been a ritual for me since childhood. Always good for a find. Over the years though it has declined. Less random stuff and more chatchky tourist stuff.

An absolutely horrible place to visit. Eclectic doesn't cover it. Too much stuff crammed inyo too little space. Stear clear and save your money.

We've been going to this store ever since we can remember, (almost 50+ years). It always has some of the coolest stuff we've ever seen. After not being there since we were a kid, nearly 50 years ago, we were amazed to find it still there, still open, and full of really cool stuff, just as we remembered it! We'll... More

Been going to this place for years but it is just not the same as it once was. Now they seem to be selling items at list price that you can pick up in mainstream stores. Much of the quirkiness seems to have been replace by general gift shop stuff.

You just never know what you're going to find, which is what makes this shop so much fun. It's not a trip to Ptown without a stop here.

Starting to get old, same stuff year after year, more and more expensive and so crowded that it's not much fun. Kids usually find a tee or hat or chuchkee but lots of other cool places in town.

If you're interested in walking into the biggest hodgepodge of stuff P'Town has to offer, you have to visit this store. You'll get dizzy looking at all the stuff on the walls, ceiling, just everywhere. There are aisles and aisles of weird stuff you never knew you wanted or needed. It's quirky, it's fun, and you can't possibly leave without... More

This a kooky store containing all the leftover marine and military items and stuff you will find anywhere. Clothing including uniforms, shirts, sweaters hats etc. is on the floor. Equipment including cameras, flashlight etc., I can't begin to itemize all the items available for purchase in this place. Prices are reasonable and not out of sight depending on what speciality... For many years, I have made it a point to go to Marine Specialties. Since I live 2 hours away, I get to Provincetown several times each summer. Not only is there always something different, there are also things you can count on. Some examples of items I have purchased in just the last few years: Bargains on FLAX clothing.... More
