Herring cove is another favorite of ours. The sunsets are breathtaking and you're almost guaranteed to see marine life in the summer months. This beach gets crowded so get there early!

I recently visited Herring Cove Beach for the first time. Even though the summer days were over, we packed up our chairs, coats, blankets, books, sunglasses, etc and embarked on our journey. The lengthy drive (from East Orleans) was well worth it. We had to walk a little bit to find the perfect spot but we found it! We were... More

Fished here many times. Caught striped bass and blues fron this beach. Lots of fun, especially when the stripers follow the smaller fish in near shore. Very relaxing,

I've lived in Provincetown for years (we locals call it P-Town) and Herring Cove is the premier go to beach for locals and visitors alike, mostly visitors. It is a National Seashore operated beach, lots of "paid parking", paved lots (unless they get washed away in the winter), and an easy walk to the sand. The beach is always clean,... More

I went here with my girlfriend this past summer ( 2016) because we wanted to experience nude and topless sunbathing for the first time. The beach rangers' official policy is no nude or topless sunbathing, but there is a section of the beach where it is tolerated ( the park rangers don't come down that way ). When you park,... More

Through the years, we have ridden our bikes along Herring Cove Beach in the summer. Of course, coming here in the off-season, is a completely different experience. I'm glad we came here to see the sunset. It was a beautiful, although very cold experience.

You absolutely must make the drive here to watch the sunset-- it is breathtaking! On our trip to the cape, we travelled around throughout the week, but I would hands down stay in Provincetown from here on out for this beach!

On a nearly cloudless evening when in Cape Cod it is worth a drive to Herring Cove Beach to experience an amazing gift from nature. I will not try to put into words the grandeur of it. We were fortunate to be on the beach for the Supermoon. The view of the moon rising in the east and sun setting... More
