Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Do not waste your time thinking this is one of those iconic lighthouses you are going to get your picture made in front of. It is literally sometimes residence. You will stop...if your bus has time...in a neighborhood and see a house that is by a lighthouse. Much better view of this from the ferry.

This is one of the five historic lighthouses in Martha's Vineyard. It is small and simple but sits on a bluff overlooking Vineyard Haven Harbor and the Vineyard Sound and the scenery is stunning. You can see it from the ferry too.

Don't waste your valuable day, go out to the Acquinna light house and then Philbin Beach on the other end of MV.

Clearly a nice view. Wished there were better places to park to walk around. But overall a great site to visit.

One of the four on the island. Can walk all around, see the bluffs. And late afternoon allows for some beautiful light. Highly recommended.

We walked here from town in the rain just because there was literally nothing else to do and our ferry was cancelled for rough weather. It was an interesting, residential walk and a good view of a different part of the bay. Go for that reason only.

Parking is right in front. Excellent photo ops as you can see with our photos below and everyone else's too. Nice little stroll in the back overlooking the water. Very pleasant. Easy to find. Pick a blue sky day if possible during your visit to the area. Enjoy!

This lighthouse is located in an easy to get to location, making it a favorite for our family with young children. The kids love watching the ferries and boats go by and also running around on the lawn behind the lighthouse.

I would like to retract a previous review that I left saying this was not worth visiting as you can only drive by. We just learned that this lighthouse is open frm 7-9 pm on Sunday nights during the summer and revisited during this time. I am so glad we did. The view from the lighthouse was spectacular and the sunset superb. We enjoyed climbing to the top of the lighthouse and playing outside in the field that surrounds the lighthouse. I would highly recommend visiting when the lighthouse is open.
