Located in The Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, Shakespeare & Company is one of the largest Shakespeare Festivals in the country, founded in 1978 by Tina Packer. The organization attracts more than 60,000 patrons annually, with a core of over...more
We saw what was basically a one-woman show about Ann Richards, a big- hearted, hard-driving ex-alcoholic divorcee who was the governor of Texas and high profile star in the Democratic Party. When she called President Bill Clinton, she got a return call right away. The...More
The summer performance season is outstanding but nothing beats Shakespeare & Company’s Fall Festival of Shakespeare from September to November each year for the past 29 years. This place has more teaching talent in its little finger than most school districts have in their whole...More
The strength of the Macbeth cast was mixed. Most unfortunately the actor playing Macbeth was the weakest. The actor playing Banquo was excellent and the others fell somewhere in between. Strongly suggest reading a review of the play you want to see before you buy...More

I need to add my support for this Theater. The quality of the actors is excellent. The plays not only include The Bard, but other really interesting productions. There is not a bad seat in the house, so go there and enjoy yourselves.

I enjoyed this production of Macbeth, but thought casting Banquo as a woman made no sense. The actor who played Macbeth was excellent. The cast was mostly good and the idea to present the Witches as a individual was effective.
