The tour of Edith Wharton's home is very interesting. The home and grounds have been under restoration for years. The home is beautiful and the gardens are back to Edith Wharton's design. Each year new sculptures are placed around the gardens .

Even the entrance ticket is $18 per person that a bit too much, we took a chance and went for a guided tour around the house. It turn out to be very interesting and informative. The tour guide Ms. Margi, hope writing the woman name correctly, was great! Lots of details with interesting information. Then after guided tour one can... More

Anne Schuyler and her staff are amazing! Large group arranged a visit to The Mount during our stay in the Berkshires. So glad we did! Tour of the house, lunch on the veranda, walk the grounds. The gardens are amazingly beautiful. Who knew so much history in our own backyard! We are already planning a visit back later in the... More

We visited here this week and really enjoyed the grounds, tour, house and information. It is a a wonderful place to visit. I really knew very little about Edith Wharton, but was very informed about her life by the end of the visit. Beautiful estate. Don't miss it, and take advantage of the docent tour.

We never heard of Edith Wharton or read any of her many books. This was one of those experiences that was more than we had hoped for. The tour guide, Ann Shea, was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. I guess we'll have to buy some books and catch up Ms. Wharton.

We were fortunate to be walking the grounds a week before the official opening when the managers of this home allowed us to take an unofficial tour. The grounds are magnificent and the home is really special. Thanks to some Herculean efforts, the home was rescued from decay and potential loss. From servants quarters to stables to greenhouse to the... More

This is a fun side trip especially if you've read any Edith Wharton or enjoy that time period in history. Beautiful house on it's way to being restored.
