I've grown up in Ipswich and spent many summers at Crane Beach. It's a gorgeous drive out, and miles of beach span along the shore. The dunes are nicely protected so occasionally you're lucky enough to see some of the wildlife (mainly piping plovers) in there. The bathhouses and snack bar make it easy for families to enjoy a full... More

We were out viewing the fall last month and came across this fantastic spot. One of the most beautiful beaches we've ever been fortunate enough to find. You'll not find many this good no matter where in the world you may roam. More than worth the admission fee.

However hard it is to get there you will not be disappointed. This place has a feeling of calmness and spirituality that just allows you to push back against the frenetic world that the USA is. The views and the blend of gentle colours is so memorable. GO !

Crane's is the best. As a local I have grown up here. With new bathrooms and changing areas this place is tops. Do not come in July unless you have Skin-so-Soft...Greenheads

Beautiful, pristine, and on an early weekday afternoon, we almost had the beach to ourselves. We were driving through Ipswich looking at fall foliage and stopped on a whim after looking at TA activities in the area. It was awe inspiring.

People visit Cranes Beach all summer, but fall is just as wonderful. Parking is cheaper and sometimes totally free. Horses are allowed on the beach and watching them romp in the water is a fabulous site!!

Enjoyed a great hike through the sand dunes, then walked back along the beach. Beautiful place, plus new and immaculate bathrooms and changing areas.

There is something about a big beautiful beach on a perfect fall day to make all well in the world. This is one fine beach! It is the first time I visited this beach and hope I make it back in the summer.

Crane's offers 4 miles of absolutely beautiful, sandy beach. We were fortunate to have a great and sunny day with only a few fellow beach goers. The location is easily accessible and the vistas are stunning and relaxing. We enjoyed walking through the dunes as well. Special for sure!

This is not your cutesy little post card beach like Manchester's Singing Beach. No, no no- it's huge; with dunes, tidal pools, wildlife, birds galore, horses, dogs (off season) and the untamed Atlantic slamming the steep shoreline. Controlled by Trustees of Reservations, it's pricey @ $20. Join ToR for $45/yr and pay $15. Be an Ipswich resident and pay zero... More
