Each year we travel to South Harwich and stay at a rented home within a ten minute walk of this beach. It is a magical place.

Small, quiet perfect beach. If you are looking to relax, this is the spot. Not great for people watching as the parking lot is small so it limits the number of people here.

Today wasn't the day to go to Red River. From the storm last night tons of seaweed washed up on the beach. With the seaweed came the greenhead flies. I'm sure it's beautiful, but look at the beach prior to parking. If it doesn't improve,...More

This beach is gorgeous, with expansive views of Nantucket Sound. Peaceful, provides a feeling of the vastness of the sea. Beautifully maintained. Excellent for people of all ages. There's seaweed,. Great place to walk any time of year.

It is hard to find a nice quiet beach that has convenient parking and bathrooms, but Red River hits the mark. There is a lifeguard and a hot dog truck, so you can stay all day, feeling safe, playing in the sun.

My husband and I enjoy watching the sunset on winter nights on Red River Beach. They are spectacular!!! Also you can find lots of sea-glass on the beach. Often find a dozen pieces each time.

One side has a shallow river running thru it. Crabbing on both sides. No big waves normally. Sand castles and ice cream truck is a must.

Easy and quick access from parking lot to sandy beach. Lifeguards in summer...even an old fashioned ice cream truck travels through and this year there was a great hotdog stand
