GPS took us directly to this beauty. The only catch is you have to drive by a number of "keep out signs" and prestine private homes. I totally get the frustration of the local homeowners, but.. it is a public spot. Even if the "parking lot" is closed, there is a place to park, and we saw a public trail... More

We had a hard time finding this lighthouse, but it was one we really wanted to see and finally we got directions from the owner of the B&B we were staying at. Once there, the parking is good and the views spectacular!

We got a tip from the local Visitor Centre that the signs stating the road to this place was private were false. Without knowing that we probably wouldn't have made it this far. Worth the short drive out of town. We walked to the end of the break water and took some nice photos.

I was enthusiastic about checking out this lighthouse, but unfortunately you cannot get to this location without passing through private residences and neighborhoods. When I finally arrived after weaving through residential streets, I was disappointed to discover that the lighthouse is fenced off with "do not enter signs." There were not many good opportunities for pictures. It might just be... More

Lovely 5-10 minute walk out to the lighthouse along the stone and concrete jetty. The views of Gloucester are beautiful. There is very little parking and often, especially on weekends, there is a $5.00 parking fee. After parking, one must walk along a path of stones and boulders to get to the jetty. The US Coast Guard Commander (Gloucester area)... More

This "famed" Gloucester Lighthouse at the Coast Guard Station may look nice from the ocean but it is a borderline eyesore from land. Surrounded by an ugly chain link fence with "Do Not Enter" signs sprinkled about. The drive in from the the main road is also quite unfriendly with a keystone "guard" posted to remind visitors that its basically... More

A wonderful location that offers views of Gloucester Harbor - the ocean and Boston. Walking the pier takes you out into the harbor, where you can watch the boats pass by as they head out to sea . Nice place to relax and take in the view.

Many movies are made here, it's almost commonplace. When you walk down the jetty you forget all about what's behind you. It is a little tricky to find, that's the only draw-back. I was going to rate this 4-stars, but my mind went back to the experience and I couldn't do it. The sea, the sailboats, the seagulls, the fish...... More

Wow! Out at the end of Eastern Point. You can walk the Dog Bar Breakwater or fish or do both. Brought my now 42 year old son to start him on his love of fishing.

A fun experience and a good chuckle to boot! We drove by several "private road", "residents only" , "members only", etc. signs fearing for our life most of the way to the lighthouse to be greeted by a PARKING LOT for those sinners like us who scoffed at the threats to come to this area. After wiping the sweat beads... More
