Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful lighthouse on rugged terrain. I went in December when the water was rougher and the temperature colder, but the whole area was still beautiful.

It's worth the drive. Follow the GPS into the neighborhood, even though the signs say No Trespassing. You can't go into the lighthouse but you get a beautiful view of the coastline and the neighborhood.

First, to get there you have to down a road which is marked private BUT it is not, just an attempt to keep traffic low by the locals.
Second, when you get there you cannot walk up to it as it is fenced off and the rocky shore with slippery rocks makes it dangerous.

Beautiful lighthouse on a lovely rocky shore providing beautiful vistas over the area. What more could one want.

One of our friends we met in Gloucester took us for a ride on the Backshore. It was beautiful and scenic. We saw Good Harbor Beach, Niles Pond, and the Eastern Point Lighthouse.

Looks nothing like the photos unless you're in a boat! Very rocky access to the breakwater. Overgrown landscaping with minimal parking. Very disappointing

This lighthouse, like so many in New England, is beautiful and in a beautiful location. Definitely worth visiting

Decided to go after reading reviews and seeing the walkway from our whale watch. Very tricky to get there as you pass. Lots of signs that claim you can’t go any further but they’re only for the properties around it. There is a small lot to the right of the lighthouse. That’s where you park. Make your way on a small trail up on the rocks and then you can follow it the whole way out. Very cool and lots of opportunities for photos.

This is a lovely shore view drive and there is a small parking lot when you get to the lighthouse. Follow the path to the left along the fence to reach the jetty. From the path by the fence you can get a photo of the lighthouse without the tower that sort of spoils the view. You can walk out the jetty but it is extremely rocky. We had a lovely time just driving in and walking out to the beginning of the jetty.

This is a great place to go for a walk or a picnic, or just sit and watch the world go by! As others have said the sign at the start of the road is misleading and likely turns many away, but you just drive right by and go to the end of the road and this gem awaits you. The $10 fee is worth it to enjoy the space. You get the bonus of Dog Bar Light as well if you take the easy walk out to it. We had a great visit!
