Don't get me wrong this isn't some fancy National Trust experience, but for $5 each we had a great time. Short video on the history of Falmout, then a tour of the adjacent hour by wonderful guide called Denise. Fascinating, saw items we'd never heard of or seen before. Really knowledgeable lady and the house (being renovated next year) was... More

Recommend the house for people interested in architecture, but the tour staff is very knowledgeable about the people who lived here too.

Museums on the Green in Falmouth is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon with family and friends. They have live & televised presentations, and guided tours, most of which are led by staff dressed in period clothing. They don't rush you and will answer all questions. Definitely take advantage of these tours and presentations because they are... More

Really can't give this much a review. We stopped at the Falmouth Historical Society and the Falmouth Museums on the Green but was told that neither would be open until sometime in May. The women at the Historical Society was not very friendly and would not answer any questions about the town. They kept saying we should come back next... More

Bring a camera to record some of the things you'll see. At different times of the year, they'll have exhibits featuring historical personal collections. Well worth the small fee.

A really good experience walking around this historical house and if you timed it right you there was someone who provided a very in depth tour and explained the various elements within the house, well worth a visit and all overseen by local volunteers. I think we paid a donation to the overall museum fund I think it was, but... More

I stopped by one morning to do family research, helped by the very nice research manager, Meg Costello. Meg went out of her way to be of assistance, which was very much appreciated. If you have family ties leading to or from Falmouth, this is a terrific place to dig in.

If you're in the area and like history then the walking tour is for you. They only do it a couple of days a week but it is well worth the $5 fee (which also gets you in to the museums). Our guide was very knowledgeable and had done a lot of research about Falmouth, the whaling industry, and the... More
