We love Peter and Anne’s works. A most interesting experience to watch artists at work. Both are well known artists who have pieces in many major/National Art Galleries. If you like beautiful unusual and eye-catching collectible artwork, go and visit Peter and Anne. They are also very friendly.

We walked to the showroom through the industrial area of Launceston by the river. Not really expecting that much but were surprised with the extraordinary multi colour layered glass technique that they developed. Ended up purchasing 3 pieces and will order more. They will send our pieces at no cost so no hassle with getting it home in one piece. Peter who is one of the owners and glass Artist’s gave us all the info on how our pieces were made. They are pieces of art. Take the time to visit and see glass as a piece of art.

Walked into the gallery to be warmly greeted by Anne who proceeded to show me the art glass pieces in their gallery. She told me about each piece and interesting facts about other works they have completed in the past.
I decided to purchase a piece which she offered to ship free of charge to my home if I would like.
She made my visit a memorable experience.
Highly recommended for those who love amazing art glass.

As a regular visitor to this gallery and studio, now in Launceston, I count myself as extremely fortunate to live only minutes away from this ‘must see’ place for locals and visitors alike. My visits vary between admiring their works of art (and some purchasing).
Pete and Anne are world-class artists who are available to talk about their work and to sell it, of course. They are located in an industrial area only moments from the city by car. This can strike one as a surprising location and yet they have capitalised on the setting right next to the river and created a wonderful place to enjoy meeting them and appreciating their work.
How long you spend there may depend on whether you visit once while visiting Tasmania or more frequently.

We have been collecting Peter and Anne’s work for a while and were delighted to finally get to their new studio on Kings Wharf. There are beautiful works of art to admire in this new space and we fell in love with everything. Anne is welcoming and knowledgeable and we appreciated the time Anne took to show us around the studio and explain the techniques they use so skillfully. We bought 2 pieces this trip and are so happy to have them in our home.
We are considering coming back to do the workshops Anne teaches…

Loved visiting this amazing gallery. I spoke with both Anne and Peter about their awesome glass pieces and the move to the new premises right on the Tamar River. Housed in an industrial warehouse, the contrast between this and the magnificent glass pieces is wonderful.
The tubs of flowers at the entrance and the banners flying at the door and the large glass windows showcasing the glass pieces is beautiful and so inviting to come in and have a look.
This is a must on any visit to Launceston and Tasmania.

Now that Design Tasmania in Launceston has closed its shop, visiting Glass Manifesto's the only way to buy owners and artists Peter and Anne's beautiful works in glass.
Peter's vases and other glass art are a great cut above Peter Layton's of London Glassblowing in the UK: I have two of this Tassie craftsman's taking pride of place next to renown Australian glass artists Clare Belfrage and Holly Grace. And I love wearing Anne's glass wrought earrings.
Anne and Peter's shop 'hang' showcases each piece to its greatest advantage... making a visit a great experience always - better than what the iconic Jam Factory in Adelaide, South Australia can offer; as Anne has always been most happy to show you their work studio... though you'll have to wait a bit right now, as they've yet set it up in their new premise by the wharf front in Lonnie. But don't let that stop you from visiting their shop now and be tempted to take a piece or two or three home too!

I have been a fan of a Glass Manifesto for a few years now so when I heard through their Facebook page that they had moved I was interested to see the new space. With Covid restrictions lifted I have finally been able to get back down and WOW!. Kings Wharf is a great location! I won't need to hire a car it is so close to Launceston. It's an easy walk beside the river or along the levy from Peppers Silo, (you can drive that way too and then walk through gates), or if you're driving down Gleadow Street go through the levy and gates. Glass Manifesto are through these gates and at the left end of the wharf. Their work is amazing!! It is hard to choose which is my favourite but I did decide which one to take home ❤️. I love looking and I love how both Anne or Peter are happy to explain how the pieces are created. Just stunning.

Well.....its a discovery really! You have to find it! It's down in the boondocks sitting alongside the Tamar River in a pretty grungy industrial site. But....that's what makes it so magical!
First you see the pretty potted flowers welcoming you to this cavernous working studio and gallery. Then, when you get to the window, you're just gobsmacked by the brilliance of the perfectly illuminated glass sculptures in the gallery just inside the door!
This world class art glass by the amazing Anne Clifton and Peter Bowles finds its way to some of the best, most prestigeous galleries around the world, yet here it is, hidden away in downtown Launceston, Tasmania!!!
These two artists are masters of their art and prior to covid, taught internationally on a regular basis! In fact, I believe you can even do a mini class and try making your own personalised glass object d'art!!!
You don't need to go to Murano, Italy......just hop down here to Tasmania and to the boondocks of Launceston and you can easily kid yourself you're in Italy's best glassworks!!!
Its a rare diamond you'll find!!!
