Smaller than I expected but a nice wealth of information. Lots of records and mini replicas. Full uniforms with descriptions.

A really great collection of Coast Guard artifacts. I had a one on one guided tour by one of volunteers. A hour should be sufficient to see all the exhibits. The models and model makers are outstanding!

Lots of great information. Best to get tour with guide. Very knowledgeable guide (Phil) who was in the Coast Guard so had personal stories which added to the experience.

Having visited for the second time in the past 10 years you could see that additions have been made and that those working really care about the museum. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Will visit again in the future.

This was quite a find and an amazing collection of Coast Guard memorabilia and history. KUDOS to all who participated in securing the site and donating the artifacts, uniforms, and models on display in this incredible tribute to our Coast Guard

A delightful discovery in the heart of Barnstable! A beautifully restored historic building set on a hill in the middle of Barnstable on 6A has become the center for celebrating the history of the Coast Guard. Numerous gifts from retired Coast Guard ("Coasties") officers and enlisted personnel has filled out the displays on two floors with pictures and narratives (including... More

Stopped in Barnstable to learn more about coast guard history before taking our son to the Coast Guard Academy in New London. Our guide, a former coastie now volunteer, engaged us with many stories about the service; its history, operations, equipment, famous rescues, and people. Enjoyed the many interesting artifacts which were well organized in different areas of the museum.... More

We stopped here as husband is veteran coastie. He loved it and so.did kids. Brought back many memories. The docent was retired coast guard. Very knowledgeable of area and museum. Well worth the stop and time. More people need to go.

A small two story building filled with numerous artifacts and history of the Coast Guard. The guide taught us very well about the history of the organization, past and present. We enjoyed the hour spent learning more about the Coast Guard.

My daughter and I stopped by the Coast Guard Museum on a recent trip to Barnstable, MA. We were greeted by a very friendly and informative man. He gave us a brief tour and some explanations about things that had happened in the area. If you are in the Barnstable area and interested in nautical history you should stop by.
