Built in 1741 by Isaac Handy, it was the site of a thriving plantation. Built almost entirely of materials made or found on site, it stands todays as testament to Eastern Shore regional architecture. After 200+ years it had fallen into serious disrepair and was considered for demolition. Fortunately, the Pemberton Hall Foundation was formed, with the intention of restoring... More

So nice to see a piece of history so close to home. The tour was interesting and informative. Unfortunately, it is only available to the public during a limited period.

My wife and I used to love visiting the trails out by the water here when we lived in the area. Nice geocaches to find as well, enjoy!

There's no better place to take your dog or your children than Pemberton Park, where the winding trails lead you through the woods and give you exceptional views of the Wicomico. It's picturesque, you get good exercise, and everything you see is untouched by human hands...just God's hands. This is a beautiful place to spend a leisurely Sunday afternoon.

The one thing I didn't like was that the numbered boxes along the trail were filled with trash. I'm not sure what they are supposed to... More

We are very fortunate to live by this gem. I particularly like the history trail. The house offers tours. There are are wonderful nature camps for kids in summer, too.

The Pemberton Wine Festival in an annual event that I have missed for the past five years I have lived on Eastern Shore. It is a local, regional, and for some a national event. Unexpected treasure of ambience, relaxed, country and sophisticated mix of people, wine, food, music, crafts, community, social causes, games and terrain. I loved it. the regulars... More
